WHY DO TOM HANKS, STEVE MARTIN AND MARTIN SHORT HAVE 'COLONOSCOPY PARTIES'?
Why would Hanks, Martin, and Short all get together and have a colonoscopy party? Well. Before we get to that, let’s introduce the most important piece of this blog… context.
Firstly, what is a colonoscopy? Well, it’s a test to check the inside of your bowels, to make sure everything looks good down there. Usually, it’s done by men who are over the age of 35 as they’re more likely to be at risk of anything going wrong ‘down there’.
Secondly, why the hell are these three choosing to get it done together?
So, they’re not getting it done in the same room, or else that would be pretty weird. According to Short, “We thought, everybody at our age … at a certain age, you want to get a colonoscopy… we all come over, we play poker and we watch some funny movie and you drink all this stuff.”
And by doing it together, they give themselves a reason to keep doing it every year. As you get older, it’s a procedure you should get done quite often. And I suppose doing it with friends would make the process a lot easier, and enjoyable.
