WHY DID A MAN STAB ANOTHER OVER A GAME OF COUNTER STRIKE?

It takes a unique type of rage and anger to hunt down someone who killed you in a Counter Strike, and THEN stab them. This unique rage and anger was found in 2015, in a man called Julien Barreaux.

Julien was killed by the victim in an online game called Counter Strike, according to various outlets, Julien then spent six months tracking down the victim who had stabbed him online.

Barreaux found the victim after six/seven months. Armed with a knife, he confronted the victim, and stabbed him. However, the victim’s injury didn’t prove fatal, and apparently the knife missed his heart by just 2cm!

Thereafter, it was reported “Barreaux was arrested within the hour and told us he had wanted to see his rival wiped out for killing off his character,” a police officer said during Barreaux’s trial“.

Barreaux’s punishment was apparently (only) two years in jail and anger management classes. The Judge at the trial stated that they were “frankly terrified of the disproportionate reaction you could have if someone looked at you the wrong way in the street.”

Weirdly enough, you can actually find Barreaux’s message that he posted on an online forum before the crime happened, here. You can almost feel the hatred in the short message…
