JUST HOW SENSITIVE IS THE JAMES WEBB SPACE TELESCOPE?

The historic James Webb Space Telescope, which is named after… yep… you guess it… James Webb – an administrator of NASA from 1961-196, has at the time of writing this, just released its first images for the public eye. Which you can check out below!

According to John Mather, chief scientist for the James Webb Space Telescope has said that the JWST is so sensitive, that it can pick up the heat signature of a bumblebee that is on the moon, from Earth.

The JWST is 100 times more powerful than the Hubble Telescope, which will hopefully allow us to see into the past like never before.

Hubble allowed us to see universes, stars, and galaxies that formed around 400 million years after the Big Bang. With the JWST, there is a hope that we’ll be able to see around 200 million years after the Big Bang.

A historic, powerful piece of tech that will allow us to get that much closer to understanding what is out there in the deep cosmos.
