WHY DID CHRIS EVANS INITIALLY TURN DOWN THE ROLE OF CAPTAIN AMERICA?

“Maybe the thing you’re most scared of is exactly the thing you should do.” Chris Evans said this when he was interviewed about his anxiety, his role as Captain America and much more.

Evans said he turned down the role multiple times due to two reasons: the commitment of a 10-movie role, and knowing the spotlight would be fixated on him from the moment he accepted the role.

Evans of course says it’s one of the best decisions he’s made, the movie has allowed him to help those in similar situations, and he’s been helping various charities, helping those suffering from bullying and depression and no doubt helping many more.

Evans, like many actors, are quite open about how acting can impact their life; “I do struggle. I get anxiety about certain things and press, things like that.

Check out the YouTube video below where Evans talks in greater depth about anxiety and depression. And remember, if you’re suffering from one or even both, please reach out to someone. There is always someone who is willing to help.

And I suppose the message to take from this would be, it doesn’t matter if you’re Chris Evans, The Rock…etc., you can always be susceptible to anxiety, depression…etc.., so take care of yourself and get help should you need it.
